Pain is described as an uncomfortable sensation in the body due to activation of the nervous system. Pain is one of the defense mechanisms of the body and way of telling that body must be taken away from the object causing the pain. Medically, pain is considered to be a symptom of the underlying disease or condition.
International Association for the Study of Pain gives the definition of pain as “An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with, or resembling that associated with, actual or potential tissue damage.”
